Come out and support Texas Children’s Hospital and help cure hydrocephalus — the #1 cause of brain surgery in kids. Saturday, June 2, 2012, the Houston crew of MX for Children fundraisers will be putting on a benefit ride at Rio Bravo Motocross Park in Houston, TX. The ride starts at 9 am and goes all day. We’re so pleased to announce that our 2012 Jackpot Challenge has raised over $43,000! This is a record amount and we also set a new record this year for the largest amount ever raised by an individual at
$11,755.

5 1/2 Year Koen McLeod Wins the Jackpot Challenge

Winning the grand prize this year is 5 1/2 year old Koen McLeod of Oakville, Ontario in Canada. Canadians rounded out the podium with Travis Byrom finishing second, winning a $500 gift certificate to the Motorcycle Superstore. Hannah McCrory wins an Xbox 360 system for her third place showing.

We would like to thank to Feld Motorsports for their support and encouragement for this year’s event. We also got great support from the teams and riders with tweets and Facebook posts that drove a lot of awareness. The industry supported us with great prizes (thanks again Motorcycle Superstore!) Finally, a very well-deserved thank you to all who participated in Canada and the United States. We witnessed some really great fund raising tactics this year – use of Facebook and other social media tools, pizza parties, bake sales, and lots of door-to-door efforts. Hats off to all of you as these funds will make a real difference in the lives of children who suffer from hydrocephalus.

We hope to see you all back next year! Stay tuned for details about the Jackpot Challenge in 2013!

These were the top fund raisers for this year’s MX for Children Inside Line Experience for Toronto’s SickKids Hospital. Having raised well over $17,000 in total – our ILE’ers experienced the Monster Energy Supercross stop in Toronto in an exclusive up close and personal fashion during the race weekend. Jackpot Challenge Winners: Front Row Seats in Vegas

We are excited to announce that Feld Motorsports has chosen to sponsor our Jackpot Challenge (JPC) for 2012. This means that we can offer the opportunity to win the Inside Line Experience — the ultimate backstage pass to Supercross — to supercross fans across North America! The Inside Line Experience (ILE) will return to five cities this year: St. Louis, Toronto, Houston, Seattle, Salt Lake City and Las Vegas — go to the Inside Line Experience page for details. The ILE is a reward to people that raise at least $500 for their local children’s hospital prior to race day in one of those cities. The Inside Line Experience includes a small group meet and greet with top supercross racers, a factory rig tour, a walk on the Supercross track, pit passes and great seats not to mention the good will associated with raising money for sick kids. The Jackpot Challenge offers the same experience but also includes round trip tickets, hotel and meals for two at the finale of Supercross in Las Vegas!

We’re pleased again for the second year running to offer our ‘Helmets for Hydro’ eBay charity auction. Lead by action sports icon Travis Pastrana and leading Supercross and Motocross stars, we’ve assembled a great collection of very hard to find autographed race helmets for bidding.

“Hydro” is short for “Hydrocephalus” — the #1 cause of brain surgery in kids which affects one million people in the United States. The funds raised from the auction benefit hydrocephalus research at leading Children’s Hospitals including: Toronto’s SickKids, Seattle Children’s, Utah’s Primary Children’s, Children’s Hospital of Alabama, St. Louis Children’s, Pittsburgh Children’s and Houston’s Texas Children’s Hospital.

Helmets for Hydro

In addition to Travis, racers donating this year include Ryan Dungey, Trey Canard, Ashley Fiolek, Andrew Short, Justin Barcia, Eli Tomac, Davi Millsaps, and Brett Metcalfe. “For the second year in a row I am joining up with MX for Children for their Helmets for Hydro auction. I’m proud to be able to donate one of my THOR race helmets” said Brett Metcalfe, Team Rockstar Makita Suzuki Factory Rider. “As racers, it is important to give back to our communities and for me it’s honorable and meaningful to help kids in need”.

Feld Bestows Humantarian Award on MX for Children

Feld Motorsports honored MX for Children with its “Humanitarian Award” at last night’s Supercross Banquet. Long time volunteer Brett Wise was on hand to accept a big check — a $5,000 donation to MX for Children’s sponsored children’s hospitals! This year MX for Children expanded our Inside Line Experience beyond our traditional stopis in Houston, Toronto and Seattle to include St. Louis and Salt Lake City. With our expansion, we got more industry support and had more participants. In February, Feld Motorsports helped us launch our Jackpot Challenge as an incentive to Inside Line fundraisers and to expand our fundraising borders to include the whole country. The Inside Line Experience and Jackpot Challenge has raised more than $40,000 for seven children’s hospitals around North America this year.

But this award is really for all of you that helped us fundraise for these hospitals. We want to thank you, Feld Motorsports and the supercross industry for making 2011 a better year for kids who suffer from repetitive brain surgeries! Thank You!

Jackpot Challenge Nets $37,000 Children’s Hospitals

Marc Fantich and Crew Rode from McAllen Texas on Valor

The MX for Children Jackpot Challenge pledge drive concluded this past weekend and netted more than $37,000 for children’s hospitals across the US and Canada. The top fundraiser, Marc Fantich of McAllen Texas, rode his Harley called Valor all the way to Seattle Supercross collecting funds along the way and then presented his check for $7,000. But Fantich wouldn’t accept the grand prize leaving it for the next highest fundraiser — two kids from Houston Texas that raised more than $3,400. Ryan and Sean Anthis, 11 and 10 respectively, did bake sales and spaghetti dinners to raise funds for the Jackpot Challenge. “I am so proud of Ryan and Sean for all the hard work they have put into their fundraising efforts,” exclaimed their mother Jackie Anthis. “This is their third year raising money for hydrocephalus through MX for Children, and they continue to surprise me each and every time.” The Anthis boys will be treated to the Inside Line Experience at Las Vegas Supercross along with air travel and hotel accomodations donated by Feld Motorsports (you can read their press release here.)

Second and third prize, a $500 gift certificate to the Motorcycle Superstore and an Xbox 360 with Kinect, went to the Pinch Family and the Whittington Family both of Toronto Canada. Each family raised $2500 or more with a variety of fundraising techniques.

Thanks to everyone who participated in the Inside Line Experience and the Jackpot Challenge this year. We greatly appreciate your support for our cause. And thanks to our sponsors for the Jackpot Challenge including Feld Motorsports, the Motorcycle Superstore and Lori Longthorne for the donation of the Xbox. Funds raised for the Inside Line Experience and Jackpot Challenge to seven children’s hospitals that are working to improve treatments for kids who suffer from hydrocpehalus — the #1 cause of brain surgery in kids. Donations are still be accepted.
